Frequently Asked Questions

Plant Audit Preparation & Protocols

Do we need to shut down plant operations during diagnostic audits?

No. Over 95% of our tests—including harmonic measurements, infrared thermography, clamp-on ultrasonic flow metering, and vibration analysis—must be conducted while the plant is operating under normal peak production load to capture real-time stresses. Only specific earth pit isolation and insulation resistance megger tests require momentary isolated clearance, which is coordinated with your electrical maintenance team.

How long does an on-site field diagnostic audit take?

A standard diagnostic audit typically takes 2 to 4 days on-site, depending on the contract demand, physical plant acreage, and number of sub-panels. The 24-hour load pattern and harmonic logging run continuously across shifts to capture batch cycles and night baseloads.

Are the audit reports recognized by statutory authorities and insurance underwriters?

Yes. Our electrical safety audits are prepared in strict adherence to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Regulations 2023, National Electrical Code (NEC), and IS 3043. Our energy audits follow the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and ISO 50001 framework, which are accepted by insurance surveyors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.

What documents should our engineering team prepare before the auditors arrive?

To maximize on-site efficiency, having the following ready is beneficial: (1) Plant Single Line Diagram (SLD), (2) Last 12 months electricity utility bills showing TOD breakdowns, (3) Equipment rating list for major motors, boilers, transformers, and compressors, and (4) Existing earth pit layout drawing.
